Varos Epitok | City Builders
Eget is currently nothing more than a few dirt streets and a handful of buildings that look as if a dragon used the town as a vacation spot. It used to support several farms, a beautiful lake, and a humble community that kept the town flourishing, but for the past few years it has only suffered.
Ravaged by goblins and razed by rogues; the townspeople live in fear as constant attacks leave their numbers dwindling from the rampant atrocities that befall their home. Scorched buildings line the streets and the few people remaining stay perpetually hidden from newcomers and outsiders until finally they can take no more.
Two wandering elves and a year-long resident of the town open their ears to the people’s cries and pleas. They seek refuge, they seek safety, and they rest their hopes on something that they’ve ignored for centuries. A massive stone portal; buried in the dirt, and said to be as old as the gods lies hidden deep within a sprawling jungle to the north. Ancient prophecies foretold of heroes or demons pouring through the magical device and saving the world, or laying waste to it. Now, it is the townspeople’s only hope. With nowhere left to turn, no kings, queens, or saviors able to protect them, they choose to gamble on the warnings of the ancient texts and send a small group along with the adventurers through the portal to find a habitable place to rebuild in an unfamiliar land.
